Our Approach
CTC works to change the conditions that shape children’s and families lives so neighborhoods can truly thrive by driving community and systems transformation. We invest in building collaborative infrastructures grounded in Power Building and Power Sharing. Our work is rooted in equity and justice, elevating community-led solutions to turn shared values into action. By mobilizing community members and cross-sector partners, we build collective power to create lasting community and institutional change.
OUR SERVICES
Our Collective believes that for children and families to truly thrive, we must transform the systems and policies that shape their lives. We specialize in building community power by developing co-governance structures and mobilizing trusted local networks that connect residents to essential resources. From recruiting a culturally rooted workforce to training the next generation of leaders, our work is grounded in equity and community expertise. By combining strategic communications with equitable evaluation and grassroots engagement, we are co-creating a future where marginalized communities have the power, resources, and influence to lead their own transformation.
We provide consultation, technical assistance and capacity building on our Community Transformation Model in the following areas:
Policies and Practices - Assess and co-design policies and practices to transform societal, institutional and systemic conditions so that children and families can thrive.
Systemic Barriers - Develop strategies that shift systemic conditions related to policies, practices, resource flows, relationships & connections, power dynamics and mental models.
Community Co-Governance - Develop community-ed co-governance structures composed of community members, organizations, city and county departments, elected officials, faith-based organizations, foundations, businesses and other stakeholders.
Network Mobilization - Develop or leverage established, trusted community institutions and systems that connect community members to essential resources.
Community Engagement - Community outreach and recruitment to improve access to services/programs and when seeking input, feedback, and recommendations (e.g., listening sessions, focus groups, town halls, forums, etc.).
Community Promoter Workforce - Recruit, hire, and/or contract a culturally rooted workforce that will reach and better serve marginalized communities.
Equitable Evaluation - Develop and implement equitable evaluation processes. Working with community and industry experts to create research questions, data collection tools, analysis, and reporting grounded in the knowledge, expertise, capacity, and experience of community members that informs programmatic progress and impact.
